HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SERVICED?
It's recommended you service the transmission every 50,000 miles.
HOW DO I CHECK MY TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVELS?
Most vehicles now have no transmission dipstick. You should visit a transmission shop to have the fluid level checked.
WHAT DOES MAINTENANCE OF THE TRANSMISSION INCLUDE?
We remove the transmission pan and replacing the filter, gasket and fluid. This procedure allows the technician to see if your transmission has any wear and tear. However, there are some foreign & domestic cars that you can not replace the filter.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE THE FLUID IN ASTANDARD TRANSMISSION?
If you have a Standard Transmission, it is also recommended that you have the fluid changed every thirty thousand miles.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REBUILD A TRANSMISSION?
Most transmissions take an average of two or three days.
Helpful Hints
- Never shift to Park or Reverse while the vehicle is moving.
- Never shift to Reverse or Drive when the engine rpm's are higher than normal.
- Periodically check your parking space for fluid leaks.
- Check the transmission fluid level, you can do this when you have your engine oil changed.
- Always tow front wheel drive vehicles with the front tires off the ground.
- When towing a trailer or driving uphill the O/D should be turned off.
- Turning off the O/D will help prevent the transmission from overheating.
